Events like Annual Days are essential for kids as they promote creativity, teamwork, cultural appreciation, and confidence. They provide a platform for self-expression, helping children develop a well-rounded personality and valuable life skills.
Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Model Town, Jalandhar, recently dazzled with its much-awaited Annual Function, Rétromoderne – Retro Roots, Modern Wings. The event, an unforgettable blend of nostalgia and innovation, was an evening to remember. Held with unmatched enthusiasm and grandeur, it truly encapsulated the spirit of harmonising the timeless charm of the past with the vibrant energy of the present and future.
The Chief Guest, Ms Narinder Kaur, Assistant Commissioner, State Tax Punjab, graced the occasion with her presence, adding great value to the event. Her participation was a symbol of the significance of blending tradition with progress. Her address was a powerful reminder of the school’s role in fostering a holistic learning environment. Ms Kaur lauded the institution’s commitment to blending traditional values with modern skills, ensuring students are ready to face the challenges of a dynamic world.


The evening began with a heartfelt welcome from the Officiating Principal, Ms Priyanka Grover, officiating Principal of the school, who extended warm greetings to all the esteemed dignitaries. Her words underscored the importance of staying grounded in our cultural heritage while embracing the endless possibilities that the future holds.
The performances were nothing short of spectacular, unfolding a beautiful narrative that depicted the journey of a multigenerational family — grandparents, parents, and children — navigating the realms of retro and modern worlds.
The evening commenced with a soulful Shiv strotam rendition, setting a serene and spiritual tone. This divine invocation of blessings from Lord Shiva resonated deeply with all, establishing an atmosphere of peace and reflection.
The school choir delivered a captivating vocal ensemble, with songs in both Hindi and English, showcasing how music remains a universal language that transcends generations. Next came Melody of Words, a delightful medley that seamlessly blended old nursery rhymes with contemporary beats, sparking joy and laughter among the audience as it celebrated how traditions evolve while maintaining their essence.


The Retro Dance Medley took the audience on a trip down memory lane, transporting them to the golden era of music and dance. Classic hits brought nostalgia to life, reminding everyone of simpler, joyful times. In a thrilling contrast, the younger generation’s Hip-hop Routine – Let’s Get Loud electrified the crowd, symbolising the fast-paced and vibrant energy of modern-day life.
Dancing Machines, a futuristic robotics performance, provided a glimpse into what lies ahead, celebrating technological advancements and the critical importance of innovation in today’s world. The finale, Echoes of Punjab, ignited the stage with a power-packed Bhangra performance, where traditional beats met contemporary rhythms, urging the audience to join in the celebration with applause and cheers.
In addition to these electrifying performances, the event also featured a few special segments. Ms Grover, presented the Annual Report, highlighting the school’s achievements, milestones, and future vision. This reflective moment showcased the incredible efforts of both students and staff in making the school a beacon of excellence. A Behind-the-Scenes Video offered the audience an insider’s look into the meticulous planning and hard work that brought the event to life. To top it off, the Medal Distribution Ceremony recognised the outstanding achievements of students across academics, sports, and co-curricular activities, fueling the spirit of excellence.

The children showcased incredible performances, from graceful retro dances to dynamic modern robotics-inspired moves, blending nostalgia with futuristic charm. Their energy and creativity left the audience spellbound, highlighting the harmony between the past and the future,” Ms Ritu Mehra, Teacher, Senior KG shared.
The evening ended on a high note with closing remarks from Ms Nidhi Ghai, In-charge, Rhythms Kinderworld expressed heartfelt gratitude to the management, staff, students, and parents for their collective efforts in making the event a grand success.
With resounding applause and radiant smiles in the audience, Rétromoderne celebrated the school’s spirit of unity, diversity, and growth— making it a night to cherish forever.
