Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, New Delhi, one of Delhi/NCR’s leading schools, has witnessed excellent results in this year’s CBSE Class 12 exams. Out of 178 students, a staggering 74 of them scored 90% and above and 174 students scored 75 percent and above.
Monali Jain from Commerce stream is the school topper. She scored 99 in all her subjects. Sharing her examination strategy, Monali said setting explicit goals is key to success. “Despite the uncertainty over boards, I have set myself a goal to score more than 98 % in Boards. It is also important to be consistent in studies as this year students were assessed based on their marks in class 10, 11 and 12. Also, there’s no substitute for hard work, will power and determination.” Monali plans to pursue Economics Honours from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University.
Not too far behind is Prakriti Malik, who top scored in Science stream with 98.4 % and got 100 marks each in Economics and Chemistry. She said, “I used to set daily targets and achieve them without fail. When exams are approaching devote extra-time to subject (s) that you find difficult.” She also cautioned students not to study the night before a test. “You’re not going to learn anything new. The likelihood is much higher that you’re going to stress yourself out. I used to relax myself by watching TV and interacting with my family. It’s also critical to have a good night’s sleep before an exam.”
Talking about tips and tricks to manage your studies during the pandemic, Prakriti said it’s best to study from paper notes rather than from laptops or tablets. “Our screen time has already increased due to online learning. To reduce eye strain, one of my teachers recommended that I regularly do eye exercises.” Prakriti said she plans to pursue B. Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics from either Lady Shri Ram College or Hindu College of Delhi University.
For Chitra Gangwani, who had scored 98 % in Humanities, consistency and making hand written notes are pivotal for scoring well. “You have to give your best in every exam, be it class tests or final exams. Secondly, make hand writing notes while studying as when using a pen and paper you process the information more deeply. Thirdly, prepare a study time tableand keep time for leisure activities.”
Chitra, who scored 99 in English, Geography and Psychology, didn’t find online learning challenging. “Being an ardent lover of Psychology it was not difficult for me to switch from offline to online learning mode. I participated in multiple workshops on Psychology and took part in various inter-school competitions for Psychology students. The credit for the smooth conduct of online classes goes to all my teachers and classmates. They were extremely cooperative.”
Given her passion for Psychology, Chitra wants to do B.A. (Hons.) in Psychology from Lady Shri Ram College.

“Success stories are not written instantaneously. It’s a long journey of hard work, perseverance, learning, study and most of all love of what you’re doing and learning to do. During the pandemic, the school came up with a lot of improvisation in the form of online programmes, exciting videos, simulation of laboratory experiments and gave students sample question papers to make learning engaging. Teachers ensured that every student in the class was given adequate attention, especially the students from the Economically Weaker Section.”
-Ritu Mehta, Principal, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park

“Heartiest congratulations to all the students and our toppers! Well done indeed! They truly proved the words of Walt Disney, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them”. Soaring high is the motto of Apeejay and that is what these students have adopted as they spread their wings to soar high and achieve all their goals and dreams! Congratulations once again and God bless them!”
-Shalini Agarwal, Vice-Principal, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park
