Orientation programmes are essential for young children due to their susceptibility to resist frequent changes in their lives. These programmes serve as vital tools to help children navigate and adapt to new environments, routines, and expectations effectively. By providing structured introductions to their new school settings, teachers, and classmates, the event helps alleviate the anxieties and uncertainties that often accompany transitions.

To make the transition smoother for the students, Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar organised an orientation programme. A comprehensive session was organised for new parents whose children were recently enrolled in the school. This session served as a valuable opportunity for parents to receive clear and concise information about the school’s ethos, curriculum, yearly activities, and daily routines.

The teachers of the school conducted a Jolly Phonics training session for both students and parents, equipping them with essential phonics skills to support early literacy development. In attendance at the event were Ms Priyanka Grover, Officiating Principal of Apeejay Model Town, along with Ms Nidhi Ghai, Headmistress of Pre-primary, and other dedicated teachers from the school.

Ms Grover, delved into the amendments introduced in the NEP 2020 curriculum, sparking extensive discussions and analysis. These revisions have the potential to reshape learning outcomes, teaching approaches, and broader educational objectives, igniting significant interest and debate within educational circles. Dr Pooja Kapoor, a highly acclaimed paediatrician, graced the event as the chief guest.

Her insightful counseling and valuable suggestions to parents centered around nurturing child development during the foundational stage.

The overarching goal of the session was to empower parents with the knowledge and tools necessary to play an active and supportive role in their child’s educational journey right from the outset. The session sought to foster a collaborative partnership between parents and educators, ensuring that children receive consistent support and guidance both at school and at home.
