Anvika Virmani is in class nursery at Apeejay School, Faridabad Sector 15. She has only recently joined the school and has already made many friends in her class. In a brief interview with Anvika’s mother, Dr Ratna speaks about her daughter’s progress since joining the school and how her teachers go the extra mile to make learning fun for all kids.

Read edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay School, Faridabad over other schools for Anvika’s admission?

Firstly, the school has a good name and reputation. Secondly, my husband and his cousins are all alumni of this school. So we know first hand that the infrastructure, teachers, quality of education, basically everything in this school is great. Extracurricular activities are part of the curriculum. Besides, my husband and his cousins are all good swimmers, they learnt it in the school, so they praise the school a lot. I think it will be  a great place for my daughter to grow up.

Is Anvika happy at the school?

Yes! She is enjoying school a lot. Everyday, they are having some or the other activities in the class. They have been creating many skits of late. She now goes confidently on the stage and delivers her dialogues. The teachers put in a lot of effort behind every child.

What fun learning activities are the teachers conducting?

From yoga day celebrations to sports guru programmes to swimming day, they have a plan for every month. They also have these cooking classes, then lots of craft activities on Mother’s Day. All this was never there during my time at school.

Excellent! And how’s the academic progress?

She likes all the subjects at present. I think she loves English the most. The teachers are very nice and very patient since these are all very young kids. I feel the class teacher Ms Pridhi Kataria is doing a fine job. The way she communicates, her attitude, her empathy and understanding levels are just excellent.

What progress have you noticed in your child since joining the school?

My daughter has become more outgoing. Her vocabulary has improved and she has picked up a lot of English. She has also become more friendly, more social. She loves school festivals, activities and is happy going to school.

Has she made friends in the class?

She is extroverted by nature. So, she has made plenty of friends in her class.

Very happy to know that! Lastly, what activities does she like the most?

She likes music, dancing, yoga and swimming too. She has inherited the swimming genes from her father I think.
