‘My daughter has grown in confidence since joining Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park’

Mr. Sunil Sharma is an Assistant Lead Designer with Atkins India Pvt Ltd. His daughter Mishika Sharma is a kindergarten student at Apeejay Panchsheel Park. In an informal interview, he shares his reasons for choosing the school, his daughter’s progress and his perceptions about the online classes. Edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, over other schools for your child’s admission?

I wanted a school which values activities as well as academics. We chose Apeejay Panchsheel Park because of the good reviews I received about the school from my colleagues. I had also gone to the school and met the Principal and the teachers who told me all about the school. I was very impressed and thus got my daughter enrolled here. 

Please tell us a bit about your child and take us through his progress at school?

Since joining the school, I am seeing a lot of improvement in my daughter. She was very shy earlier but now her confidence is growing. She likes to dance a lot. She has participated in a lot of extra-curricular activities. She tells me that she is interested in singing as well. She likes Jolly Phonics and rhymes among her subjects. She is performing very well in school. 

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

Yes, Shubhani Sharma Ma’am has been her class teacher in Nursery and is her class teacher in Kindergarten as well. I have spoken to her, she is very polite. She also teaches very well.

What is the best thing about the school?

It is the academics and the way of teaching. I think that is the best.

What is your perception about the online classes?

Owing to the online classes, I feel that the students have missed out on many activities, opportunities and learning experiences such as playing in the school ground, participating in dance activities etc. Online classes have been going on very well. When I speak to my colleagues about the progress of their children, I find that there is a lot of difference between Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park and other schools. The teachers here are working very hard and it shows.
