Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar, played host to its Annual Appreciation Day extravaganza – Melange. It was a night of artistic brilliance and cultural richness. The event, graced by chief guest Ms Bitty Manchanda, (ADD) unfolded with a luminous ceremony of the lighting of the lamp, seeking the blessings of the Goddess of wisdom and learning as Saraswati Vandana played in the background. The chief guest was welcomed by the principal and other dignitaries with a green sapling

Speaking at the function Ms Manchanda showered accolades on the school, applauding the hard work of teachers and the exceptional performances of each student. “Seeing such lovely performances, nostalgia takes me down to my own student days. I loved being a part of this function today, and the high energy level of the students has surely rubbed off on me,” she said.

Mr Malkiat Singh, Principal, Apeejay School, Model Town, Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, presented the annual report, reaffirming the school’s commitment to Dr Stya Paul’s vision of nation-building through education. He highlighted the renovation of labs and the library, achieving senior secondary level affiliation, and expanding the sports ground. Ms Nidhi Ghai, the headmistress of Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, set the tone of the event with a warm welcome by greeting the audience to the enchanting world of little minds. “Melange is a celebration of our students’ incredible talents — a show brimming with life, laughter, and love,” she said.

The evening’s enchantment commenced with a breathtaking dance performance on Durga Stotram (Aigiri Nandini), where students, in beautiful formations, paid homage to Devi Durga. This was followed by a contemporary delight as tiny tots swayed to the celebrated track “Gangnam Style,” adorned in stylish western outfits and colorful pom poms.

The visual spectacle continued with a behind-the-scenes video, capturing the students’ rehearsals, teachers’ preparations, and the meticulous arrangements of props and stage requirements. A vibrant Rajasthani folk dance by toddlers, holding glowing lamps, created a mesmerising play of light and shadow.

The minion-themed dance, reflecting the children’s love for the animated characters, brought in a wave of cuteness to the stage. Dressed in yellow headcaps and blue jeans, the students charmed the audience with fast aerobic movements set to EDM music tracks.

The celebration continued with girls paying tribute to friendship through a Bollywood-themed dance. The energy soared with a special bhangra performance, a cultural essential in Punjab. It was a scene to behold as boys came on the stage dressed in the traditional pink coloured Punajbi outfits with designer turbans and Bhangra sticks. The dance performance sent waves of liveliness amongst all present.

It was followed with another high spirited freestyle dance performance as the stage came alive with boys dancing to “We Will Rock You” and girls presenting a captivating dance with multi-coloured umbrellas.

The event reached its pinnacle with a beautiful dance drama on Cinderella, as the tiny tots enacted this classic fairy tale beautifully and helped in spreading the messages of kindness, love, and forgiveness. The event concluded with a final dance performance where students held cut-outs of the word ‘Melange’, creating another visual spectacle.

The Annual Appreciation Day transcended boundaries, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all present. It was a celebration that showcased the boundless potential and creativity of these little minds. Ms Ghai gave a vote of thanks and the event concluded with the National Anthem.
