The JEE Main exam is not just another super tough exam. It is a dream rather than an intense aspiration that requires consistent effort, sincerity and vision. And these seven students from Apeejay School, Nerul exhibited just the same.

Having cleared the JEE Mains Session 1 exam with a jaw-dropping high percentile, let us read what these young champs have to say about their journey that made them come one step closer to realising their dream

Nandikaa Singh, holder of an outstanding 97.310 percentile, believes in making the foundations of every subject strong. She mentioned, “My main focus during the entire preparation for JEE has been grasping the concepts properly. For any chapter, I first read the NCERT textbook thoroughly.”

She added, “Whether it was Physics or Chemistry, I first developed a solid understanding of the topic. Then I referred to the notes I made during the classes to strengthen my understanding and then I proceeded with solving questions on the chapter. ”

Nandikaa further added, “For Mathematics, I made formula sheets which really helped during revision time and also solved as many problems from each chapter as I could. However, I also referred to the books Physical Chemistry by Narendra Awasthi and Concepts of Physics by HC Verma for additional practice. Nearing the JEE Mains exam, I took many mock tests to improve my speed along with the accuracy.”

Siddharth Vivek, who scored a super 96.78 percentile in the exam, aspires to do Computer Science engineering or go into research. He mentioned, “Consistency matters the most. Even if one studies 6-7 hours a day, one has to be diligent and consistent at it. That’s all. Needless to say, practice goes a long way!”

Building on the support from the school Shreyansh Bhaik, who secured 95.01 percentile, mentioned that the school was with him at every step of his journey. He stated, “The teacher’s helped a lot by clarifying all my doubts and they were there to support me at all times. I am truly indebted to them. ” He added, “Physics and Maths were my strong subjects while I was a bit weak in Chemistry. But with support from teachers and regular self-study, I turned my weakness into a dependable strength.”

Sara Kumar achieved an amazing 95.491 percentile and wishes to pursue Computer Science Engineering in IIT Bombay. Speaking about her approach she stated, “With continuous effort and hard work I hope I can live up to my dreams. I am a medical student, so I will also be giving the NEET-UG exam. My approach has been regular consistent study, hard work and keeping a laser-like focus on the target ahead.”

Apeejay student Kanishk Malhotra is a 93.44 percentile holder. He advises a similar focus to the next batch of students. He said, “Focus on what you don’t know more than what you know. Only giving mock exams and not analysing their results and not learning from their mistakes, will hinder your marks from increasing.”

He further added a key tip, “My success mantra was to maintain a healthy diet and a hygienic study environment. The last thing you want is to fall sick during crucial points of your preparation. Do keep this in mind, health is wealth.”

Pranav G, who scored an outstanding 91.955 percentile and aspires for IIT Bombay or IIT Kharagpur, is also immensely grateful to the school. Thanking his school for their constant support he expressed, “My school teachers motivated me to study the NCERT book thoroughly and following their advice I was disciplined with regular study, revision and taking mock exams regularly. One has to make the foundation strong, that is a key ingredient of success. I worked very hard to ensure I was clear about the basics in all the subjects. ”

And reminiscing the grill of the preparation days, Nandan Sensarma mentioned, “I always believed in quality over quantity. There would be days where I would be too wound up in tuitions and could only find mere two hours for self-study. Nevertheless, I made the most of those two hours.” He added, “Towards the end of the academic term, I completely cut off from the outside world. I then managed about 9-11 hours of self-study and mock paper practice.”

Sharing his success mantra with the next batch, the 90.01 percentile holder said, “No one size fits all. But one thing which really changed my consistency was planning out my coming day one night prior. Take a whiteboard, pen down exact details of what you’re going to do the next day about 10 minutes before sleeping. Follow this timetable religiously. And do keep a punishment for every incomplete task, for me it was 10 pushups each!”

The school wishes the young champions best wishes for their upcoming examinations and reminds them that an unwavering self confidence is the cornerstone of a successful life.
