‘Making our mark in history’: Poem by Samaira Mulchandani, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park 

I feel that immortality is not essentially living forever
Rather it is leaving your name on this Earth

That will never be forgotten ever.
Legends aren’t born, they are made by leaving a mark in history,
A mark that will not let our existence remain a mere mystery.
Through our deeds, our life’s story we write,
Tales of courage that will be read in the future to children at night.
Through our choices and decisions, we’ll inspire.
To reach greatness, we all aspire.

Our mark we shall leave on Earth 

So that it will last long after we’re gone
Lead a life such that it will inspire a new dawn.
Even after we’re gone, in a child’s heart will stay alive, that fire
To not surrender to wrong, even when the consequences are dire.
So, how do we leave our footprints on times’ sands?
It’s by making a change, and the power for that, lies in our very own hands.

Who says that we can’t be brave hearts like our freedom fighters?
The ability to change the world lies in our hands for we are our story’s writers.
So move forward, make a change, your journey to greatness you now commence,
However hard the route may seem to be, I believe that with courage you can make a change that would indeed be immense
