Students at Apeejay School, Noida, have once again showcased that focus, discipline, and effective planning pave the way to academic success. Three diligent Class VI students share their personal study strategies, time management tips, and the support they received from teachers and family, all of which contributed to their exceptional performance in the final exams.

Meet Haazel Kalra, Aadya Singh, and Samaira Verma of Class VI-E academic session 2024-25, who have made their school and parents proud.

Haazelwho scored an impressive 97.4%, shared that she didn’t follow a strict plan but studied for five to six hours daily. “I began this routine in Class VI. The jump from Class V was overwhelming — the syllabus felt vast and difficult. I was scared initially and kept wondering why there was so much to study,” she recalled. To manage the pressure, she concentrated on subjects she found tough, especially Math and Hindi.

“I’d call my teachers for help with difficult questions, and they always guided me patiently,” she said. Her parents also supported her by helping her create a structured timetable. Now, in a higher class, she finds things smoother. “I pay attention in class. In Class VI, I talked a lot. I’ve realised consistency is key as you move to senior classes,” she added.

Aadya, who scored 97.2% excluding the third language, said, “I always asked my mother for help in deciding which topic to start with. I studied for about an hour and 10-15 minutes daily, completing easy topics and tackling tough chapters first. I made my notes and regularly reviewed every chapter taught in class, which ensured I faced no challenges.”

Samaira, who scored 96.3%, excluding the third language, shared that it was no secret at all. ”I did not rely on extra books but focused on reviewing my school textbooks regularly. I didn’t take notes separately, but made it a point to read the chapter summaries and prepare beforehand. This helped me during exams, as I only had to review the chapters instead of starting from scratch,” she said and added that she dedicated about four hours to her studies, excluding homework.

Including homework, it would be around 6 hours daily. Even though she reached home later in the day, she managed my time well. She made time for my studies by waking up early and playing in the park.

“Learning German in Class VI was challenging. However, I had some advantages; my German teacher made it easy for me to approach her with doubts. Moreover, my sister also studied German, so she was a great help too. For other subjects, my teachers were always supportive, clearing my doubts patiently and explaining concepts very clearly,” she shared.

Now that she is in Class VII, she offers her advice to the students who are entering Class VI. “I would suggest they dedicate around two hours daily to their studies, start preparing for exams well in advance, and focus on increasing both their study speed and handwriting speed. The key is to prepare patiently without rushing through anything,” she said in conclusion.
