Classroom teaching has evolved over the years. What, according to you, is different today?

Classroom teaching has evolved to be more student-centred, inclusive, and technology-driven. To establish a productive and interesting learning environment, teachers make use of digital tools, collaborate with students, provide individualised instruction, and value variety. This method leverages data to pinpoint specific learning gaps while empowering students to assume ownership of their education. Teachers work hard to establish a secure and encouraging environment that values each student’s particular strengths.

How has technology impacted teaching and learning?

By introducing new methods for disseminating and gaining access to information, technology has revolutionised teaching and learning. Digital technologies are now available to teachers, allowing them to personalise education, create interactive and interesting lessons, and monitor student progress. Students can then access educational resources at any time and from any location, collaborate with classmates and teachers remotely, and take part in a more engaging and immersive learning environment. Technology has made learning more accessible, engaging, and personalised for students.

Do you think it is important to promote students’ holistic development right from the school level? Why?

Yes, it is essential to support pupils’ overall development from school level onward. Academic and personal achievement depends on a student’s intellectual, emotional, social, and physical health, all of which are emphasised in holistic development. A well-rounded educational strategy that emphasises students’ overall development can help them become well-rounded individuals, cultivate strong social skills, and enhance their academic performance.

How do you stay motivated as a teacher?

Staying motivated as a teacher is essential for delivering the best possible education to students. It involves focusing on your goals, recognising and celebrating small successes, seeking support when needed, setting realistic objectives, trying new things, and taking care of yourself. While motivation levels may fluctuate, using these techniques can help overcome any dip in enthusiasm and maintain the drive to inspire students towards a better future.

As educators, we play a critical role in shaping the future leaders of society. We build the foundation for students, which they will rely on throughout their lives. It is a responsibility that requires immense dedication and passion. This is what keeps me motivated as I can contribute something for the betterment of society.
