Spotlight on young talent at role-play spectacular

Apeejay School, Noida, unleashes creative champions; students of class IV steal the show

On May 2, 2024, the corridors of Apeejay School, Noida buzzed with excitement as the Primary Department hosted a vibrant Role Play Competition (Paatra Charitraankan Pratiyogita) for class IV. This event, a celebration of creativity and expression, saw young students step into the shoes of iconic characters from literature, mythology, nature, and real life, showcasing their flair for storytelling and acting.

The competition was structured in two rounds, starting with a preliminary phase where students from each section competed to secure their spots in the finals. The enthusiasm and dedication were palpable as twenty-five talented finalists, shortlisted from the initial round, took to the stage dressed in elaborate costumes, equipped with expressive props. Their performances were not only a feast for the eyes but also a testament to their understanding and interpretation of their chosen characters.

Each participant was judged on several criteria including content, confidence, props and costume usage, and overall presentation. The esteemed panel of judges, Ms Deepali Priyanka and Ms Aishwarya Mishra, had the challenging task of evaluating these spirited performances.

Recognition and Rewards

The event culminated with an award ceremony where the results were announced by the Primary In-charge Ms Smriti Samuel. She lauded the efforts of all participants and encouraged them to continue reading and exploring new ideas. The winners were celebrated for their outstanding performances, with Nivriti Khemani (from IV-A), Devansh and Yashvi Aggarwal (from IV-E) clinching the overall first position. The overall second position was awarded to Vansh Aggarwal (from IV-B), along with Kashvi Srivastava and Reyansh Mehra (from IV-D).

In addition to the overall winners, ‘Best in Class’ accolades were distributed, recognizing the top performers from each class, and underscoring the depth of talent across the participants.

A Foundation for Future Success

This role-play competition did more than just entertain; it served as a platform for these young minds to develop their public speaking skills, boost their confidence, and enhance their ability to convey stories effectively. Such events are crucial in nurturing the holistic development of students, equipping them with the skills necessary to succeed in diverse fields.
