Divya SainiMother’s Day, a heartfelt celebration dedicated to honour and appreciate the incredible women, who play an invaluable role in our lives—the nurturing and selfless figures we lovingly call “mom”— was celebrated with great enthusiasm, fervour, and joy at Apeejay Schools at Rama Mandi and Mahavir Marg in Jalandhar. The aim of the events was to express gratitude and honour the love, sacrifices, and invaluable role of mothers in our lives.
At Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, the occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Sumel Bath, a renowned Gynaecologist from Bath Hospital, Jalandhar, who presided as the Chief Guest. Mrs. Arwinder Cheema, Principal of Dashmesh Public School, Model House, Jalandhar, also attended as a special guest and judge for the competitions held during the celebration. To further enrich the Parent Connect programme, two mothers, Ms. Anusha Reddy and Ms. Simran Banga, were invited as judges for various competitions.
The programme began with a sacred lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolising enlightenment and respect. It was followed by charismatic performances by the students, leaving the audience spellbound. Mothers enthusiastically participated in competitions such as rangoli making, flameless cooking, digital collage making, dance, and modelling. They showcased their talent and love for their children through delicious dishes, colourful rangolis, adorable collages, and captivating dance performances.
Further, the winners were awarded for showcasing their talents, and the atmosphere was filled with pride and joy.
While addressing the audience, Dr. Sumel Bath applauded the mothers for their multifaceted role in the lives of their children. She emphasised the importance of self-care in a mother’s life and shared valuable tips for maintaining physical and emotional well-being.
Further, acknowledging the strength of a mother’s belief in her child’s abilities and capacities, as well as her role in challenging and facilitating their goals, Mr. A.K. Sharma, Principal at Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, commended all the mothers for their unparalleled contribution to the society.
Ms. Aarti Shorey Bhat, Vice-Principal at Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. She thanked Dr. Sumel Bath for her presence and for being a source of inspiration for all women.
Similarly, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, commenced the celebration with the lighting of the lamp, symbolising enlightenment and respect. Students and teachers expressed their love and appreciation for their mothers by offering flowers. This was followed by an award ceremony to acknowledge the exceptional achievements of students in sports and various activities in the primary wing.
Subsequently, the significance of Mother’s Day was highlighted through insightful talks, emphasising the crucial role of maternal love in our lives. A heartfelt group song dedicated to all the mothers beautifully conveyed the students’ gratitude, love, and admiration.
The festivities continued with a captivating and lively group dance performance, where talented students skillfully portrayed the different emotions and dynamics of the mother-child relationship. The audience was enthralled by their graceful moves, and the performance truly captured the essence of the occasion.
Both celebrations left everyone with a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation for the selfless love and sacrifices of mothers. They provided a platform to express heartfelt emotions and celebrate the invaluable role that mothers play in shaping our lives. The events served as a reminder to cherish and honour our mothers not only on Mother’s Day but every day.
