Jalandhar school reaches national round of prestigious INTACH Quiz 2022

Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar has qualified for the national round of the Indian National Trust for Arts, Culture, and Heritage (INTACH) Quiz 2022 after securing a significant margin in the state-level round held at the school. The national-level round will be held in Delhi soon. 

Shiv Jindal and Divyansh Gupta of Class IX and Class X respectively competed against eight other teams who came from schools across Punjab to participate in the prestigious quiz. A total of 13 gruelling rounds were conducted, themed on topics ranging from the cultural heritage of different states to famous Indian personalities, literature, folk dance, folk musical instruments, and the history of Punjab, to name a few.

“I had a wonderful experience. I am grateful for the exposure. I will practise very well for the national level and try to win that too,” Gupta said. “Through the quiz, I learnt a great deal about our heritage and culture. My teachers helped me a lot to prepare by sharing necessary resources with me.”

The momentous occasion was graced by Anmol Gagan Maan, Minister, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Government of Punjab, who was the chief guest. Sharing her pearls of wisdom, she urged students to value their mother tongue and culture.

Jaspreet Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar, was the guest of honour at the event. He was accompanied by many other dignitaries from the Jalandhar administration department.  

INTACH Quiz is envisaged as a learning experience for students. Through each quiz, the students are also given knowledge about INTACH and its scope of work to encourage volunteerism. The quiz is conducted in local languages as well as English to enhance its outreach.
