Mindfulness is a potent catalyst for self-improvement and self-awareness. By fostering a heightened awareness of the present moment, it empowers individuals to enhance personal growth and well-being. This is particularly relevant for today’s youth. In an increasingly fast-paced and digitally connected world, the practice of mindfulness provides essential tools for managing stress, improving focus, and enhancing emotional intelligence. It encourages young individuals to be present, self-aware, and resilient, ultimately empowering them to navigate the challenges of the modern world with confidence and grace. Developing mindfulness skills can have a profound impact on their personal and professional lives, making it a crucial aspect of their personal growth and development.

Thus, realising the importance of mindfulness in this dynamically evolving landscape, Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka held a workshop on “Unleash your superpowers with mindfulness” as a part of its “Vyaktitv Personality Workshop Series-III” initiative. This insightful session was led by a seasoned mindfulness coach and storyteller, who is also an ASM alumna, Ms. Priyamvda Puri (from the batch of 2001-2003), and storyteller Ms. Priyanka Sagar Maheshwari.

The workshop aimed to shed light on the concept of mindfulness as a powerful tool for self-improvement and self-awareness. Ms. Puri commenced the workshop by describing mindfulness as the “Do It Yourself” approach to life, emphasising the importance of taking control of one’s own life experiences.

Further, Ms. Maheshwari captivated the audience with her engaging storytelling, highlighting the concept that “We hear only what we want to hear.” Her stories underscored how an individual’s preconceived notions can limit his/her growth and understanding. The workshop incorporated various activities, including a paper-folding exercise, which served as a metaphor for the folds in our lives. It encouraged participants to reflect on how they often continue living within the constraints of these existing patterns, even when they may no longer serve their best interests.

The event received a positive response from 90 students and faculty members in attendance, who found the workshop highly valuable and enlightening.
