Dr Ambica Soni and Dr Sandeep Soni are professors at the Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences, Jalandhar. They are proud parents of Ishani Soni, class 2 student at Apeejay Model Town. Why did you choose Apeejay Model Town over other schools for your child’s admission?

My child has been in this school since pre-nursery. Initially, I was a little apprehensive as to how she would adjust to the new surroundings. But the manner in which the school in-charge dealt with her and explained the entire admission process was commendable.  The school staff was really polite and they spoke in a very pleasant manner. I saw that every child was taken such good care of that it immediately made me opt for this wonderful school for my child as well. The teachers are very co-operative and the school focuses on the holistic development of students.

Please tell us a bit about your child and take us through her progress at school?

Apeejay Model Town is justifiably known for educational excellence with an equal emphasis on a holistic development of the child. I am really satisfied with the progress of my child over the years. She has been an all- rounder, excelling in both academics as well as extracurricular activities.  Over the years she has grown up into a confident girl eager to participate in all the activities at her school. She has won prizes in various competitions both intra-school and inter- school events, which has contributed greatly in shaping her overall development. Apeejay Model Town has inculcated good values along with an empathetic approach in the students since such an early age.  My daughter’s reading, writing and speaking skills have been greatly polished by the various activities conducted by the school at regular intervals.

Are the teachers engaging well with the students?

The teachers are extremely co- operative, polite and approachable both by students as well as the parents. As parents we are updated on every progress of our child.  The teachers take a keen interest in solving the problems of the students. The teachers focus on overall development of the child be it in academics or extracurricular activities. Also, the teachers at Apeejay Model Town focus on inculcating good habits and values in their students which will surely go a long way to make them better citizens of the nation in future.

It is a very good school particularly in terms of academic environment and discipline. The teachers, students and parents work together as a team. Equal emphasis is laid on the holistic development of children and in teaching them moral values. What is your perception of the online mode of learning?

Apeejay School, Model Town, was the first school to start with online classes when the pandemic started in 2020. The teachers have done a commendable job in keeping the students fruitfully engaged during these difficult times. All the teachers take a keen interest in making the online classes not only interesting but also innovative and enjoyable for students. All the concepts are clarified in a very practical manner. At the same time, the students are kept engaged by a lot of activities to enhance their speaking skills. Also virtual parent teachers meetings are conducted regularly in which individual feedback and detailed progress of the child is shared. Many virtual value-based discussions are held periodically to shape the overall personality and behaviour of the students.
