Krishna Nagar’s son Shaurya and daughters Sia and Pakhi are all students of Apeejay School, Greater Noida, in classes 10 and 5 respectively. Nagar, a teacher at Vedam playschool, says that teachers at Apeejay take extra care to bond with the students and help express their thoughts. In an interview, the mother-of-three talks about her overall experience with the school. Edited excerpts:

You have been associated with Apeejay International Greater Noida for a long time now. Tell us why you chose the school for your children.

We knew about the Apeejay group of schools, which is why we wanted our son Shaurya to study in one. That is how we chose Apeejay International School, Greater Noida. With our son being a part of the school for so many years now, we were able to witness firsthand how the school invests in students’ progress. From the teaching staff to the facilities offered, everything about the school is very good. So, we were positive about enrolling our daughters there too.

What is it about Apeejay that particularly interested you?

When we are talking about a child’s development, it is not just education that matters. For a child, school is not just an institution of learning but it is also an extended family. The way the teachers at Apeejay understand my children and constantly encourage them goes to show their dedication to work.

How have your children progressed?

Over the years, my children have developed a lot of confidence. Both Sia and Pakhi participate in different extracurricular activities like street plays, dance, and sports, etc. Shaurya, on the other hand, is an introvert. However, his teachers have always encouraged him and given him the required exposure. He too participated in street plays.

Your son is taking the board exam this year. Did the school prepare him well?

Yes, the teachers explained the chapters well and completed the syllabus on time.

Are you planning to enroll Shaurya in a different school after this or will he continue at Apeejay?

No, we are definitely not thinking of any other school. We would like him to complete classes 11 and 12 from this school itself.

What do you think about the online classes?

The positive part of online teaching is that parents are able to experience how a classroom operates. I have seen the kind of effort a teacher puts in each and every class and how students respond. The teachers are engaging, lively, and energetic. They are encouraging and very patient not just with the children but also with the parents. If I particularly talk about my daughters, they feel very comfortable in the online classes and express themselves freely.
