NCC cadets of Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, have launched a public health awareness campaign on Tuberculosis (TB). The step is undertaken as an assigned task by the 2 Punjab Battalion NCC, aimed at educating students and the wider community on early detection and timely treatment of the disease.
The initiative, shared through a video message by the cadets, focuses on spreading awareness about the warning signs of TB and encouraging prompt medical attention. According to the campaign, individuals experiencing a persistent cough lasting more than two weeks, fever, difficulty in breathing, or blood in sputum should not ignore these symptoms and must seek medical help without delay.
The cadets highlighted that TB testing is available free of cost at government hospitals and designated TB clinics, urging citizens to get tested at the earliest sign of symptoms. The campaign’s central message emphasises that timely diagnosis combined with complete treatment leads to full recovery, reinforcing the idea that TB will lose, the nation will win.
The drive forms part of a larger national effort under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, which seeks to eliminate Tuberculosis across the country. By involving school-level NCC cadets, the initiative aims to extend awareness efforts to younger citizens and their families.
Through the video, the cadets appealed directly to the public: spread awareness, encourage testing, and help save lives. The message reflects a growing emphasis on grassroots-level involvement in India’s public health campaigns, where student volunteers and youth organisations like the NCC play an active role in disseminating critical health information.
With this awareness initiative, the NCC cadets of Apeejay School have taken a proactive step in supporting India’s fight against Tuberculosis.
