Women’s empowerment is a prominent topic of discussion today. But, have you ever pondered its true meaning? Women empowerment signifies the process of granting women influence in various spheres. It can be defined in numerous ways, such as acknowledging and actively seeking women’s perspectives, and elevating their status through education, awareness, literacy, and training.

Women’s empowerment facilitates and enables them to take crucial decisions amidst societal challenges. It gives them the ability to reshape gender roles and other societal positions, thereby offering greater freedom to pursue their aspirations.

In other words, women’s empowerment can be defined as promoting women’s sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices, and their right to influence social change for themselves and others.

Women are not limited to domestic duties or merely agreeing with decisions made by male family members. They are compassionate beings, encompassing roles like mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, and wives, to name a few. India’s constitution guarantees freedom to all. Women should equip themselves with education, the ultimate tool, to advocate for their rights.

“Women empowerment” is not mere rhetoric; it’s a principle that should be integrated into our lives. Remember, “A woman shapes a nation’s destiny; do not jeopardise her life.” Let’s earnestly incorporate women’s empowerment into our lives.
