‘Diwali’: Poem by Saanvi Chaurasiya, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park

Diwali, the festival of lights,
A time for joy, a time for delights.
The darkness of night, the lamps take flight,
As we celebrate the victory of light.
The streets are filled with colourful lights,
The sound of fireworks, a symphony of brights.
The air is filled with the scent of sweets,
As we gather with loved ones to greet.
The diyas are lit, the rangoli is grand,
The festivities are in full demand.
The children play, the elders watch with glee,
As we come together, wild and free.
In Ayodhya, a city of old,
A prince named Rama did once unfold
His glory, a tale of might

Right and a shining light.
On Diwali night, when darkness falls,
Shree Ram’s light shines bright over all,
A symbol of hope, a guiding star,
Leading us to victory from afar.
In Ayodhya, joy does unfold
As Ram’s return is told
With Lakshman, Sita, and Hanuman by his side
Together they dance, their hearts full of pride
The goddess Lakshmi, with her golden glow,
A gift of wealth, on those who seek to know.
Ganesha, wise and kind, removes all obstacles,
And brings prosperity, with his gentle smiles.
When Shree Ram came to Ayodhya, on Diwali’s rays,
He brought us the victory, with his grace,
May their blessings be with us, always and ever,
And bring us joy, prosperity, and love forever.
