Delhi-based media institute hosts Industry cum Academic Orientation 2023

The Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC) in Dwarka buzzed with energy as it welcomed its incoming batch with a dynamic Industry-cum-Academic Orientation 2023. This event, held to set the stage for the students’ academic journey, provided a unique platform for them to interact with industry experts and renowned media academics.

The inaugural day of the orientation witnessed the presence of distinguished personalities, Mr. Annurag Batra, an accomplished entrepreneur, journalist, and chairman of Businessworld, and Mr. Santosh Desai, CEO of Futurebrands, who is also an accomplished author, columnist, and astute media critic. Their valuable insights served as a guiding light for the enthusiastic gathering of students.

AIMC curated an engaging and insightful Orientation programme, offering the new students a sneak peek into what their upcoming journey as part of the PGD & PGDM programmes would entail. Dr. Batra’s speech resonated deeply with the students as he delved into the core professional values that had propelled his own entrepreneurial journey to success. Furthermore, he shed light on the vast array of promising opportunities that the dynamic media industry offers.

During his session, Mr. Desai emphasised the paramount importance of continuous learning and staying updated with emerging industry trends. He encouraged students to foster originality and to cultivate their unique and well-informed perspectives on the world around them.

The palpable excitement felt by the attendees was eloquently articulated by Garvisha Oberoi, a student pursuing PGD Corporate Communications. She remarked, “The grand inauguration at AIMC has filled me with a sense of pride and excitement. The orientation ceremony has instilled in me immense confidence in the journey that lies ahead.”

Mrinal Rawat, enrolled in the PGD Television & Radio Journalism/Production program, was thoroughly captivated by the warm reception extended to the students on campus. She shared her sentiments, saying, “The immersive atmosphere and visionary leaders have truly captivated me. I feel fortunate to be a part of the Apeejay community.”

Sagnik, who is embarking on his journey with PGD Mass Communication, expressed his anticipation with a smile, saying, “The orientation was excellent. I am genuinely excited about the extensive learning and growth that AIMC promises.”

The core faculty members of AIMC, including Professor Sajal Mukherjee, the Director of AIMC, Prof. Naveen Gautam, an Associate Professor, Prof. Mudita Raj, an Assistant Professor, Prof. Ankit Kumar Malyan, an Assistant Professor, and Prof. Sukriti Arora, also an Assistant Professor, engaged closely with the students as the session drew to a close.
