Three high-achieving students of Apeejay School, Noida, share their academic journeys, revealing the study strategies, teacher support, and family encouragement that helped them excel in Class IX. Their experiences provide helpful lessons about consistent effort, overcoming challenges, and staying motivated. Meet Anahita Mishra, Aadya Kaushik, and Aliza Elahi of Class IX from the academic year 2024-25, who have proved that hard work and consistency are key to success.

Anahita, who achieved an outstanding 97.6%, made a determined effort to improve her academic performance after her Class VII results. She adopted a disciplined approach by devoting more time to her studies and developing the habit of writing notes, which significantly improved her retention.

“Class IX was academically demanding, and I found Hindi particularly challenging due to frequent spelling errors. To overcome this, I began reading Hindi newspapers and books, which helped enhance my language skills,” she said.

She credits her Hindi teacher for simplifying complex topics and making them so clear that she rarely needed to revise them at home. “My parents also played a vital role by creating a peaceful and supportive environment. Also, I studied more intensively during exams; my routine throughout the year included two to three hours of consistent study daily,” she added.

With a commendable score of 95.6%, Aadya attributes her academic success to consistent effort and disciplined study habits. “I made it a point to study for three to four hours daily, outside regular school hours. Staying regular with my homework and maintaining strong alignment with her teachers played a key role in her performance,” she said.

She acknowledged that not every day was easy; some days felt off, but she kept her long-term goal in mind. “Even on such days, I ensured at least half an hour of focused study to stay on track, she said.

Her teachers were extremely knowledgeable and always clarified concepts thoroughly. Regular quizzes, assignments, and class tests helped reinforce learning. Although she tends to be shy about speaking up in class, her teachers provided individual attention and were always available to address her doubts privately. She received support from her family and thrived in a calm, motivating environment.

Scoring an impressive 93%, Aliza credits her success to attentiveness in class rather than long study hours at home. She focused on listening carefully to her teachers and made subject-wise notes directly in her textbooks, underlining key points in SST and Science, and jotting down meanings of difficult words in Hindi and English.

“To memorise historical dates and events, I created detailed timelines on paper and revised them regularly before exams. Although initially hesitant to ask questions, especially in Math, her teachers were highly supportive. They often took the initiative to clarify doubts, provided individual attention, and even offered extra time after class for further help,” she shared.

At home, her parents played a vital role by ensuring she took breaks, offering refreshments, and boosting her morale. “Their emotional support helped me stay focused and manage exam-related stress with greater ease,” she said in conclusion.
