Read edited excerpts:

Tell us about your work profile?

I am a management trainee here. To be more precise about my designation, I am the account management executive. As part of my work, I have to coordinate with the clients and get their details and inputs about the project. Then I talk to the creative department and coordinate the same with the studio.

You were placed here through the college campus right?

Yes, I got this opportunity and I thank AIMC for being part  of my success journey.

So you must have been groomed well by the college professors?

Absolutely! Prof Pijush Dutta mentored me throughout the placement process. He trained me on how to conduct myself in front of the interview panel, how to participate in group discussions, among other things. I give him the full credit.

And how was your time at AIMC?

My graduation went away during the lockdown years. So, at AIMC, it was a second chance to live my college life. It was very holistic, a wholesome experience. I learned something new everyday. A lot of engaging and fun activities used to take place on campus such as giving presentations, different kinds of events, and so on. These activities helped us get trained for the real job world.

A life lesson learned from then?

Be confident in everything you do! Confidence speaks for itself!

One suggestion to a current student?

I have observed that students are scared to go out into the real world. It is just a matter of confidence. Just believe in yourself and do what your heart tells you.

Where do we see you in the next 10 years?

Currently I am on the agency side. I want to be on the brand side in the coming years.

And finally, one principle of success in agency life?

Be patient while dealing with the clients. Convincing them is an art; learn it quickly.
