Students at Apeejay School, Noida, have once again proven that dedication, strategic studying, and consistency lead to academic excellence. Here, three bright Class VI students share their study habits and how they achieved outstanding results. Meet Vanya, Gangal (98.8%), Aditya Chaudhary (98.6%), and Ananya Dugar (98%) of Class VI-A from the academic session 2024-25.
In a candid interview, they share their success stories among other things.
Vanya, thrilled with her performance, said that there is no secret. “I usually study for about one to two hours every day. It’s a consistent habit rather than intense last-minute preparation that helps me stay on track. And while transitioning from Class V to Class VI was a bit challenging initially, especially since Sanskrit was a new subject for me. However, I gradually found it manageable because it shares similarities with Hindi. With some regular practice, I got the hang of it, and it didn’t remain difficult for long,” she said and added that she was fortunate to have wonderful teachers throughout the year.
“They played a big role in my success. If I ever had doubts, I could freely approach them, and they always made sure to clarify things for me. Their support made learning more effective and enjoyable. They provided ample sample questions, and I practised them diligently. This helped reinforce my understanding and preparation,” she stated.
Aditya, said that it felt amazing to see his hard work pay off. “My study strategy was pretty simple but effective — I followed a cycle of 30 minutes of study followed by a 15-minute break. I believe that if we force our brains to keep studying without pauses, it eventually gets overloaded and stops retaining information. After coming home, I would change, freshen up, and begin my study routine,” he shared and added that he didn’t find any subject difficult because the teachers were so supportive.
Ananya’s approach to studying was more about understanding than memorising. “I didn’t try to rote learn. Instead, I understood the concept first and then wrote the answers in my words. I think this is important because when you understand something deeply, you don’t need to depend on rote learning,” she opined
Among all the subjects, she found SST a bit challenging. But our teacher made the concepts so easy to grasp that it helped her a lot. “For students who are moving from Class V to Class VI, my advice would be to pay close attention in class and revise regularly. Understand the concept during the lesson and then go over it repeatedly at home until it sticks. I used to study for an hour, then take a 10-minute break, and repeat the cycle, totalling around three hours of study every day,” she said.
