Apeejay School, Tanda Road enthusiastically immersed itself in a festive vibe as teachers and students celebrated Baisakhi with high spirit. The celebration aimed to familiarise students with the cultural and historical significance of the harvest festival while encouraging them to participate in creative and engaging activities.
The programme began with an informative PowerPoint presentation that introduced students to the importance of Baisakhi. Through colourful visuals and simple explanations, the presentation highlighted how the festival marks the harvest season and holds special significance in the northern regions of India. It also helped students understand the cultural traditions associated with the festival and the joy it brings to communities.
The celebration was further enlivened by a lively dance performance presented by students of Class I. Dressed in vibrant traditional attire, the young performers captivated the audience with their energetic moves set to lively Punjabi music. Their enthusiastic performance reflected the festive spirit of Baisakhi and added excitement to the event.
Adding a thoughtful touch to the programme, students of Class VIII presented a beautiful poem recitation dedicated to the festival. Through expressive delivery and meaningful words, the students highlighted the themes of gratitude, prosperity, and cultural pride associated with Baisakhi. The recitation was appreciated by the audience and added a reflective dimension to the celebration.






One of the most delightful segments of the event was the ramp walk by the Pre-Primary students. The tiny tots confidently walked the ramp dressed in colourful traditional outfits, showcasing the vibrant spirit of the festival. Their cheerful smiles and enthusiastic participation filled the atmosphere with joy and excitement, making it a memorable highlight of the celebration.
The event also featured an inspiring address by Ms. Simranjit Kaur, who encouraged students to respect and cherish their cultural traditions. She emphasised the importance of understanding festivals not only as occasions for celebration but also as opportunities to learn about heritage, unity, and gratitude. Her words motivated students to remain connected to their cultural roots while growing as responsible citizens.
The Baisakhi celebration concluded on a patriotic note with the singing of the National Anthem. The entire gathering stood together, bringing the event to a respectful and meaningful close.

Overall, the celebration proved to be a vibrant and enriching experience for the students. Through performances, presentations, and interactive participation, the event successfully combined learning with celebration. It helped students appreciate the cultural significance of Baisakhi while creating joyful memories that they will cherish for a long time.
