Vaisakhi and constitutional ideals take centre tage at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg

Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, hosted a vibrant and meaningful special assembly to commemorate the auspicious occasion of Vaisakhi while also observing Constitution Day. The thoughtfully curated event seamlessly blended cultural heritage with civic awareness, offering students an enriching experience that celebrated both tradition and democratic values. 

The proceedings commenced on a solemn and spiritual note with a prayer led by Vice Principal Ms. Aarti Shorey Bhat, invoking blessings for peace, wisdom, and prosperity. This was followed by a melodious performance by the School Choir, whose harmonious rendition set a reflective and uplifting tone for the assembly. The serene atmosphere resonated with reverence and enthusiasm among students and faculty alike.  

Adding depth to the programme, students presented the ‘Thought for the Day,’ inspiring the audience to reflect on the significance of moral values and responsible citizenship. Informative talks were delivered on the historical importance of Vaisakhi, highlighting its agricultural, cultural, and spiritual relevance, as well as its association with the formation of the Khalsa. Equally enlightening was the presentation on the Indian Constitution, which underscored its foundational role in shaping the world’s largest democracy and safeguarding the rights and duties of its citizens. 

The assembly came alive with vibrant cultural performances. A soulful Vaisakhi song captured the festive spirit of the harvest festival, while a spirited folk dance showcased Punjab’s rich cultural heritage, filling the atmosphere with energy and joy. A thematic enactment dedicated to Ambedkar Jayanti paid tribute to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. Through this powerful presentation, students highlighted his invaluable contributions toward equality, justice, and social reform, leaving a profound impact on the audience.

In a poignant display of national pride and responsibility, students took a formal pledge to uphold the values enshrined in the Constitution. This solemn moment reinforced their commitment to justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, nurturing a spirit of integrity and civic duty.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Aarti Shorey Bhat encouraged students to embrace cultural diversity while remaining steadfast in their responsibilities as informed and conscientious citizens. Her words of wisdom inspired the young minds to strive for excellence while upholding ethical and constitutional ideals.  

The assembly concluded with the collective singing of the National Anthem, echoing a deep sense of patriotism, unity, and pride. The event stood as a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic education, fostering cultural appreciation, national consciousness, and responsible global citizenship among its students.
