Students at Apeejay School, Noida, went for a day-long excursion to the National Zoological Park, Delhi. As many as 112 students from class II visited the park, accompanied by 10 teachers and three staff members.

Ahead of the excursion, Smriti Samuel, primary-in-charge, apprised teachers and students regarding safety, security, and discipline. Everybody was filled with excitement and enthusiasm as they boarded the buses. The trip was planned as part of the school’s efforts in promoting children’s holistic development.

The National Zoological Park, which was inaugurated in November 1959, is home to a large number of species of flora and fauna. Not only does it provide shelter to many endangered species but they are also made to breed in captivity.

Some of the special attractions for the students were the white tiger, gaur, jaguar, rhinoceros, elephants, brow-antlered deer, lion-tailed macaque, migratory birds, and more.

The students relished delicious snack boxes and returned with wonderful memories to share with their parents.

The excursion strengthened the bond between students while also teaching them the value of sharing, caring, and independence.
