As Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, continued its week-long celebration of Math Week 2024 on December 27, it brought forth an engaging and educational experience for students across classes III to XII. Day 4 was marked by exciting quizzes designed to test mathematical reasoning, foster teamwork, and inspire a love for the subject.
The younger students, from classes III to V, embarked on a journey of problem-solving through team-based quizzes. Divided into groups, they answered questions covering arithmetic, patterns, and logical reasoning.
The activity was not just a test of their skills but also an opportunity to showcase camaraderie and collaboration. Teachers were delighted to see the students demonstrate a clear understanding of concepts while enjoying the process.
According to Ms Harjeet Kaur, TGT Mathematics at the school: “Day 4 of Math Week at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, saw students from classes 3 to 12 dive into exciting mathematical quizzes, fostering both reasoning and collaboration. The activities were divided into three levels: An offline team quiz for classes III to V, an online quiz for classes VI to VIII, and an advanced quiz for classes IX to XII, focusing on mathematical history, analysis, and reasoning. The events emphasised teamwork and critical thinking, showcasing the students’ enthusiasm and love for Math. As Albert Einstein once said, ‘“’Pure Mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas’.”
For middle schoolers in classes VI to VIII, the quiz was more challenging, including questions that demanded deeper reasoning and quick calculations. Zayan Askari and Aditya Gupta from class VIII-C stood out among the participants, achieving the highest scores.
Their performance was a testament to the school’s emphasis on fostering curiosity and academic excellence. It was exciting and rewarding to see the rewards of the students paying off.

In the senior category, the competition reached a new level of intensity. The quiz tested advanced topics and critical thinking, ensuring students had an opportunity to challenge themselves. Mohd Arsh of IX-B stood out for his remarkable mathematical aptitude, securing the top score among the seniors. Teachers lauded his performance, highlighting how such activities prepare students for real-world problem-solving.
A Day to Remember
The Day 4 celebrations of Math Week were a resounding success, filled with energy and enthusiasm. The quizzes not only allowed students to apply their knowledge but also instilled confidence in their abilities.
Through engaging activities like these, Apeejay School continues to inspire its students to explore the beauty of mathematics in an enjoyable and meaningful way. As the week progresses, both students and teachers are looking forward to more opportunities to celebrate the wonders of numbers and logic.
The Math Week 2024 at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, is proving to be a memorable event for all involved, creating an environment where learning is both fun and impactful.
