Harkanwar Singh, Tanya Mahajan, Shreya Khanna, and Pooja Sethi from Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), successfully cleared the final exam for chartered accountancy (CA), which is deemed one of the toughest competitive exams.

The remarkable achievement of the four brilliant students from ACFA’s Postgraduate (PG) Department of Commerce marked a moment of great pride for the institute. Dr Neerja Dhingra, the principal, congratulated the students for never losing focus and working tirelessly towards achieving their goals.

Talking about the guidance and support received from ACFA professors, Harkanwar said, “The educators and the college administration were helpful throughout this journey by setting up extra classes to assist cover the syllabus, providing notes, and conducting one-on-one doubt sessions.”

“Teachers here are supportive. They understood my study schedule and cooperated with me in my CA journey when I faced any difficulties in studies or mentally,” added Tanya Mahajan.

The journey, which involved clearing multiple levels of exams, was not an easy one for any of the aspirants. Pooja, for instance, dropped her preparation plans only to resume it six years after the birth of her child. It was the Apeejayite’s mother who inspired her to take the CA final exam to fulfill her dream. “Everybody in my family, from my husband to my in-laws supported me in my journey.”

Pooja, who had to juggle CA preparation with parenting responsibilities, managed to take out eight hours to study every day. “I took online coaching. To keep myself motivated I watched videos by CA Neha Datta, which helped.”

One of the biggest challenges was the ability to be consistent in one’s preparation. But when it comes to CA, one has no option but to give their 100 per cent, no matter the hurdles in life, believes Tanya. “You have to learn to say no to your peers or family for any social events sometimes because you know exams are just around the corner.”

Keeping the difficulty level of the exam in mind, students must be mentally prepared to handle intense pressure and sometimes, failure too. “It requires constantly picking yourself up, believing in yourself no matter what, not letting any setbacks define you, and being positive and handling the situation calmly and with a smile,” Tanya stated.

Sharing tips to crack CA final, Pooja advised, “You must solve test papers. You can refer to the CA Test Series online and find out your core strengths and weaknesses and how to work on them. Most importantly, you have to stay focused.”

Tanya added, “The only tip for CA students is do not give up and be persistent towards your goal; when you will give your 100 per cent, nothing can stop you!”
