As Shakespeare had written, some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them. Ojasvi Singh from Apeejay Institute of Technology -School of Architecture & Planning (AIT-SAP) falls under the latter category. So young and already so talented, one just needs to take a look at her wall mural art and can safely agree with the above statement.

Selected in this week’s Aspiring Artist, Ojasvi speaks about her love for art, the calmness it brings and how she is ever ready to learn more and evolve.

Since when have you been drawing?

I started drawing from my school time and since then I have a keen interest towards this field. I really like it and always look forward to the time when I can draw.

Which art form is your favourite and why?

My favorite art form is painting with watercolors and acrylic colors. I also like lippan art and 3-D art. I like to patiently invest my time in artworks as this makes me calmer and more relaxed.

How does AITSAP encourage you as an artist?

AITSAP supports me as an artist and always encourages me to try different art forms and mediums. The staff and classmates have always appreciated me and this helps me to bring the best out of me.

So, what is art for you?

Art is a feeling of calmness, keeping the chaotic world aside.

How much time does it take you to complete an artwork? What are the common ideas and themes?

The time of completion depends upon the art work and the medium. Some work took as long as a few days while some took 6-7 hours. I don’t have any particular themes or ideas but like to learn new art forms and explore more ideas.

A new artform you wish to learn?

Resin art and charcoal painting. These are beautiful artworks and I would love to do them.

Lastly, other hobbies apart from art?

Dance! I love to dance and express myself to the beat of the music
