The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (Headquarters) or IPA (HQ) in Mumbai honoured IPA – Delhi State Branch (DSB) with the ‘State Branch Excellence Award 2022’. The award was bestowed for bringing together pharma industry, professionals, academia and students on one platform by organising seminars and workshops in collaboration with pharmacy institutions of Delhi-NCR.

IPA is a national body representing over 1 million pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists from industry, academia, regulatory, hospital and community pharmacy, who work together to meet India’s healthcare needs.

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS) at Apeejay Stya University (ASU) in Gurugram has signed an MoU with the IPA-DSB for continuing professional development programmes for pharmacy faculty and students. Thus, in the past one year, SPS in collaboration with IPA-DSB has organised numerous seminars, workshops, conferences and guest lectures of industry experts.

During a one day seminar on “Regulatory Perspectives in Pharmaceuticals” held at Apeejay Stya University, IPA-DSB has bestowed upon SPS an appreciation memento for organising such scientific events seamlessly from time to time. The award was conferred by Mr Kalhan Bazaz, President of IPA-DSB & Mr Amrish Tiwari, Chairperson-IPR Forum of IPA-DSB. This award was received by Prof. Raj S. Dhankar, Vice Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, and Dr. Anupama Diwan, Dean, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

“Hai samay nadi ki dhara sab bah jaya karte hain, kuch sansthan aise hote hain jo itihaas rachaya karte hain.”

At the end, Bazaz, while motivating the students to be part of such scientific events, advised the budding pharmacists to choose the career option in pharmacy profession by choice and not by chance.

At SPS, research is one of the strongest pillars, providing a comprehensive academic experience to students. It has a distinctive learning style with a global vision. From time-to-time, Apeejay Stya University also conducts a series of conferences and seminars where students participate in research projects.
