Apeejay students participate in Jammu University’s youth festival

Earlier, they clinched the winner’s trophy at the Inter-zonal Youth Festival organised by Guru Nanak Dev University

Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), who were recently declared champions at the Zonal and Inter-Zonal Youth Festival, will now be representing Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) at the 36th Inter-University North Zone Youth Festival to be organised by Jammu University.

The Apeejay students will participate in 17 out of 26 competitions comprising Indian Group Song, Western Group Song, Geet Ghazal, Western Vocal Solo, Western Instrumental Solo, Rangoli, Mehendi, Cartooning, Collage, Installation, Classical Instrumental Percussion, Classical Instrumental Non-percussion, Indian Classical Dance, One Act Play, Skit, Mime and Poster Making. The festival began on January 31 and will be held till February 4.

Dr Neerja Dhingra, principal, ACFA, expressed her happiness about the achievement. She wished everyone luck and encouraged them to hoist their victory at the North Zone Youth Festival too.

ACFA’s culture coordinator Dr Arun Mishra and dean of Youth Welfare Dr Amita Mishra will be in charge of the students at the festival.

At GNDU’s Inter-Zonal Youth Festival, ACFA secured a total of 133 points to attain the first position. Among the competitions, they won were theatre, fine arts, music, and folk performances. They participated in 28 competitions and bagged the first position in 15, second position in 11, and third position in two competitions.
