Apeejay students learn about business intelligence in depth 

IIM Kolkata organsies a five-day workshop at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar

A five-day workshop on ‘Business Intelligence’ was organised by MAC FORUM of PG Department of Commerce of Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar with the courtesy of IIM Kolkata. Certified corporate trainer from IIM Kolkata, Mr. Azib was present as the resource speaker in this workshop, who has to his credit many certifications from reputed IT companies like Microsoft, Oracle, etc.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, while welcoming Mr. Azib said, “It is the good fortune of our students that an experienced corporate trainer from the country’s prestigious institution, IIM Kolkata, has come to share his knowledge with our students.” She further said that this workshop will definitely prove to be fruitful for them.

In the 5 days, Mr. Azib discussed various topics related to Business such as Understanding Business Intelligence, Business Intelligence Applications and its Framework, Data Basis, Types of Databases, OLTP, OLAP System, Data Models, Constraints on Business Intelligence, Business Constraints, Project Constraints, Technology Constraints, Business Intelligence Model, Benefits of Business Intelligence, Decision Making and other related topics. At the end of the workshop, he also made students prepare models.

A total of 45 students of the Department of Commerce actively participated in this workshop and shared their experiences and said that such workshops should continue to be organised for us in future too so that we remain connected with the latest topics related to Business Intelligence.

(Incharge,MAC FORUM) for the great success of this five-day workshop.

Sharing her thoughts, Apeejay student Grace expressed, “The workshop was insightful and well-organised. The content was presented in a simple and clear manner, making it easy to understand. The mix of examples and interactive activities kept everyone engaged and showed how business intelligence can be applied in real life . It was a valuable learning experience that provided practical knowledge and useful skills.”

Another student participant Ananya said, “The workshop on business intelligence and business analytics was an enriching experience. Learning power BI and excel was interesting and we all know these are essential in today’s data driven business environment. The opportunity to present in front of 45 people helped me improve my public speaking skills and boosted my confidence. The session were well structured and practical approach made learning engaging. Overall the workshop greatly enhanced my knowledge and presentation skills.”

“I really enjoyed the workshop. I never thought that learning business intelligence would be this fun . The workshop provided all the knowledge about excel , BI tools . It also enhanced my presentation skills . I learnt what works and what not in presenting a business ideas in front of around 45 people . The workshop was very effective and a successful one . All the topics were well covered by Azib sir . I am looking forward to apply the tips i learnt in the workshop,” mentioned Shivanshi.

Finally, Shreshth from Apeejay College of Fine Arts said, “The IIM Workshop was a truly enriching experience, offering insights for real-world business. Initially, I struggled to see the practical application, but Azib Sir’s guidance in the final sessions provided great clarity. He helped me see the bigger picture—how to present data effectively and organise business analysis for impact.
