The new torch-bearers: Apeejay School, Noida elects student leaders at Investiture Ceremony

Recognising and felicitating the young and emerging leaders of tomorrow, Apeejay School, Noida recently organised the Investiture Ceremony for Primary, Middle and Senior departments for the academic year 2021-2022 virtually.  

Brigadier RS Ahluwalia (Rtd), an alumni of the National Defence Academy-36th batch, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The programme commenced with a floral tribute to the beloved Chairman Dr. Stya Paul, followed by a graceful Invocation Dance.

The Principal, Mr AK Sharma, formally addressed the august gathering and accorded a warm welcome to the distinguished Chief Guest. He also bid a cordial welcome to the in-charges, parents and students, reiterating that the school fraternity is committed to carry forward its rich legacy.

The members of the Primary Prefectorial Board, 2021-22 were introduced virtually with their photographs and portfolios. The Head Girl, Emma Roy Choudhury and Head Boy, Adeesh Chandra of Primary Wing vowed to fulfil all responsibilities and uphold the values of the school.

A euphonious song rendition brightened the ceremony as the new members of the Middle Prefectorial Board were introduced. The newly appointed Head Girl, Yaashvi Sangahi and Head Boy, Rishi Vats pledged to forge ahead with indomitable will and determination, embodying the true spirit of the school motto, ‘Soaring High is My Nature’.

The former Senior Head Girl, Anusha Tikkha and Senior Head Boy, Nirmalya Nath bid a sentimental adieu to the school and passed on the baton of responsibility to the newly appointed Head Girl Tavisha Sharma and Head Boy, Kaartik Choudhary. Both Sharma and Choudhary pledged to guide their peers and juniors and lead by example.

Given his illustrious 36 years of Army Service including having fought the 1971 war and leading numerous National and International delegations, the Chief Guest, Brigadier RS Ahluwalia (Rtd), shared inspiring anecdotes from his own school days as a school Prefect and urged the new appointees to embrace their duties with humility, honesty, truthfulness and integrity.

Vice Head Girl, Adwita Rajpal and Vice Head Boy, Shabd Sahni proposed the Vote of Thanks, followed by the rendition of the school song.

The event concluded with a solemn promise of the new torch-bearers, beaming with hope and enthusiasm to prove themselves as responsible administrators. It was a proud moment for all the parents as they witnessed their children being conferred upon with great responsibilities.
