Students and staff members of the Apeejay Dwarka Campus gathered to commemorate Smt Rajeshwari Paul, wife of Apeejay’s founder chairman late Dr Stya Paul, on her 98th birth anniversary. On this occasion, Apeejay School of Management (ASM) and Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC) paid a heartfelt tribute to Apeejay’s ‘first lady’.

A prayer meeting was organised where Apeejay members extended a floral tribute to Smt Paul. Professor Sajal Mukherjee, director, AIMC, addressed the gathering and shared a heartwarming message on behalf of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Smt Paul’s daughter and co-promoter and president, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group. The message highlighted how Smt Paul, an epitome of love and compassion, inspired everybody. She was a motherly figure and was one of the rare persons who rose above others to bring hope and faith to the lives of many.

Professor Anuj Kumar, assistant professor, ASM, recited a poem in honour of Smt Paul. Soulful bhajans were also sung at the ceremony.

Smt Paul, who was a postgraduate in English, was adept at swimming, music, and kathak. Throughout her life, she celebrated various forms of art and advocated for them when they were still far from getting their due recognition. She is also remembered for the significant role she played in the rise of Apeejay Group. The life of Smt Paul was indeed one that had manifested its worthiness in every manner. Her profound life with the highest ideals and values has forever been the pillar of strength for the Apeejay fraternity.

“Holistic development of every student is very critical and Rajeshwari Paul ji was the one who advocated art, craft, music, and so on. We try to inculcate the same passion and love for art in our students through extra-curricular activities.”

-Dr Alka Munjal, director, ASM

“She was the epitome of learning and hope and taught all of us that when we place hope as our guiding light, we became unstoppable in reaching our desired destination.”

-Professor Sajal Mukherjee, director, AIMC
