Apeejay College of Fine Arts celebrates World Theatre Day with monologue competition

Students exhibit their flair for dramatic expressions

The Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) in Jalandhar, marked ‘World Theatre Day’ with enthusiasm. 

As part of the celebration, a monologue competition was held in which budding artists exhibited their flair for dramatic expression by delivering captivating performances of their favourite movie dialogues. Nidhaan Jain of Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication, secured the first position, followed by Diksha Nayyar and Gursimran Singh, who bagged second position. The third prize was won by Hargunpreet Singh and Rohan Singh.

On this special occasion, Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA, emphasised the college’s commitment to providing diverse platforms for student talent development. She highlighted the students’ notable achievements in theatre, including victories in skits and one-act plays at various festivals.

Further, Dr. Dhingra commended the students for their outstanding performances and applauded their success in clinching top positions in the competition. She also extended her appreciation to Dr. Nivedita Khosla and Mr. Mohit from the Department of Journalism for their dedicated efforts in organising the event.

The celebration of World Theatre Day at ACFA not only showcased the students’ talent and passion for theatre but also underscored the college’s commitment to nurturing creative expression and providing holistic development opportunities for its students.
