Recently, Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, hosted a unique and thought-provoking event – Techno Fiesta. The school’s corridors buzzed with enthusiasm as students from Classes V to VIII showcased their digital skills through two engaging competitions: a PowerPoint Presentation Contest and a Fastest Finger First Challenge.

The PowerPoint Presentation Competition was exclusively designed for students of Classes VII and VIII. Participants explored a diverse range of contemporary topics, including:

·         AI – Mind or Machine?

·         Cyber Security – Protecting Yourself in the Digital Age

·         Comfort Food – The Warm Hug We Need!

·         The Effects of Social Media on Society

·         Advancements in Renewable Resources

Each presentation demonstrated a deep understanding of the topic. The students impressed everyone with their confident delivery, meaningful visuals, and data-backed insights. Their work reflected creativity, research ability, and an excellent grasp of digital presentation tools.

More than just a technical showcase, the competition revealed how students perceive the world around them. Whether it was the future of artificial intelligence, the emotional connection to food, or concerns about online safety, each topic was explored with maturity and clarity. Their efforts also highlighted the relevance of digital learning and the importance of being tech-savvy in today’s world.

Fastest Finger First: A race against time

At the same time, students of Classes V and VI took part in the Fastest Finger First Competition. This exciting challenge tested their typing and formatting skills using software like MS Word and LibreOffice Writer. The students were given printed content and had just 15 minutes to type and format it with accuracy.

The exercise was more than a race — it was a learning experience. The pressure of time helped students think quickly, focus better, and work efficiently. It was a perfect blend of speed, precision, and knowledge of basic word processing tools.

Promoting digital literacy

Both competitions served a greater purpose – promoting digital literacy among young learners. Through these activities, Apeejay School provided a platform for students to showcase their abilities while preparing them for the digital challenges of the future.

Techno Fiesta was a vibrant celebration of talent, curiosity, and digital confidence. It highlighted the importance of integrating technology into education and nurturing students who are not just consumers of technology, but thoughtful users and creators.
