‘An unsung warrior’: Poem by Ashita Goel , SJMC

In a world of dreams, a girl once stood,
Unaware of the storm that soon would flood.
With a twinge of pain, she sensed a change,
As PCOD whispered its daunting range.
A doctor’s words confirmed her fears,
PCOD, a new reality that brought tears.
Confusion and fear swirled in her mind,
As she wondered how to cope, how to bind.
Mood swings like waves crashing upon her shore,
Leaving her feeling lost and unsure.
In the depths of emotions, she’d often dive,
Struggling to keep her spirits alive.
No one understands the depths she dives,
But together, united, she strives.
To lose the weight, to find a way,
To be heard, to heal and to seize the day.
Her nature changed, yet she remained true,
Fighting to break free, to be born anew.
In friendship storms, she find herself adrift,
Struggling to connect, a rift she tries to lift.
Overthinking mind, a relentless race,
Worries and fears, she can’t erase.
Yet through the clouds, a glimmer of light,
She stands tall, in her own might.
In moments of despair, she learned to heal,
Embracing self-care as her newfound zeal.
With patience and love, she is facing each day,
Unveiling the warrior within, come what may.
Through the ups and downs, she found her voice.
In this journey of fears, she made a brave choice.
To seek support, to share her pain,
And from the shadows, break the chain.
She stood as a beacon of hope and light,
A PCOD warrior, fierce and bright.
With time, she will learn to embrace her fate,
Navigating life, no longer will she be afraid to navigate.
