Remembering Dr Stya Paul; a celebration of values, vision, and education
Apeejay School, Model Town, commemorates Dr Stya Paul’s 107th birth anniversary
The values that guide an educational institution often find their strongest expression in the lives of its students. It was this belief that formed the essence of the Founder’s Day celebration at Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar. The occasion marked the 107th birth anniversary of Dr Stya Paul (Founder-Chairman, Apeejay Stya and Svran Group), whose vision of education continues to guide generations of young learners.
The school commemorated the occasion with reverence and enthusiasm, remembering the ideals that Dr Stya Paul stood for. The programme brought together devotional and cultural presentations, along with a special recognition of students who exemplified human values.
Remembering the Founder’s vision
The celebration began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by devotional bhajans that reflected the solemnity of the occasion. A graceful classical dance performance added a cultural dimension to the programme.
Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel read a special message from Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education. The message highlighted the timeless ideals and values embodied by Dr Stya Paul and their continued relevance in education.
Recognising students for human values
A significant part of the celebration was the presentation of the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values. Saanvi Mahajan of Class XI, Mannat Chitra of Class X and Jasmaira of Class VII received the honour in the presence of their proud parents.
The recognition reflected the importance Dr Stya Paul placed on human values as an essential part of education. It also brought attention to the role of schools in encouraging students to develop compassion and a sense of responsibility alongside academic excellence.
