Students and teachers at Apeejay Svran Global School came together to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti through a special event centred on his ideals of truth, peace, and non-violence.

The celebration featured the school stage decorated with quotes and images of Mahatma Gandhi, setting a reflective and patriotic tone for the occasion. These visual tributes served as a reminder of Gandhi’s enduring philosophy and his contribution to India’s freedom struggle.

The highlight of the event was a skit performed by young learners, portraying Gandhi’s core ideals of non-violence and his unwavering commitment to truth. Through their performance, students recreated key moments from Gandhi’s life, focusing particularly on the historic Dandi March.

The March was one of the most significant acts of civil disobedience in the freedom movement. The reenactment aimed to help young students understand the significance of peaceful resistance and the power of non-violent protest in shaping the nation’s history.

Through expressive dialogue and performance, the students conveyed how Gandhi’s principles of truth and non-violence remain relevant even today. The skit allowed students to step into the role of historical figures, offering them a deeper, more personal understanding of the freedom struggle beyond textbook learning.

By actively participating in reenactments rather than simply studying historical events, students are able to internalise the values. With this meaningful tribute, Apeejay Svran Global School honoured Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy, using creative expression to inspire young minds to uphold the timeless values of truth, peace, and non-violence that continue to guide the nation.
