How did it feel when you found out you had won the Dr Stya Paul Award?

It was completely unexpected! I wasn’t informed beforehand, so when they announced it during an assembly while I was performing, I was genuinely shocked. At the same time, it was a very proud and respectful moment for me and my family.

Can you walk us through the process of receiving this award?

The process started when my teacher asked me to meet the principal, which was a little intimidating at first. We then had a group interview with about 15–20 students. After that, there was a written exam focused on human values, like identifying and reflecting on them. The results were kept secret until the award day, which made the announcement even more surprising!

What does this award mean to you personally?

It’s a very prestigious recognition, especially given the number of students in our school. It acknowledges the effort I’ve put in over the years to learn and grow, both academically and personally.

As a student council prefect, how do you uphold these values daily?

Being in the student council involves guiding and supporting peers. For instance, I often help mediate small disputes among students and encourage everyone to stay focused during studies and school activities. It’s all about setting an example and promoting honesty and discipline.

Which human value resonates most with you?

Honesty. I believe in being straightforward, admitting mistakes, and always speaking the truth. I also think discipline is crucial, especially in today’s generation, where some students overlook it thinking it’s “cool.”

What value does your family hold above all else?

Respecting elders is very important in my family. We are taught to treat guests as we would treat God, and this has shaped my interactions both at home and in school.
