The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a strong clarification regarding a fake letter dated May 2, 2025, that has been widely circulated on social media, falsely claiming the announcement of Class 10 and 12 Board exam results. The Board confirmed that no such result date has been declared and labelled the letter as completely unauthentic.

CBSE emphasised that the letter did not originate from any official authority and urged students, parents, and stakeholders to disregard it. The viral letter had caused confusion and anxiety among students and families, prompting the Board to respond publicly through official social media channels and press statements.

In a tweet from its verified handle @cbseindia29 on May 4, 2025, CBSE clearly stated, “The letter dated May 2, 2025, being circulated on social media is FAKE. No official announcement has been made regarding the declaration of Class X/XII 2025 results.”

The Board has urged everyone to rely only on information released through its official website and verified communication platforms. CBSE also warned citizens against sharing or circulating the fake letter, as doing so could mislead others and escalate public concern unnecessarily.

Highlighting the negative impact of misinformation, CBSE reminded the public that false reports can cause significant distress, especially to young students awaiting important academic milestones.

CBSE concluded by assuring that the actual date of result declaration will be announced in due time through proper channels. Until then, it has appealed to all concerned to remain calm, vigilant, and avoid falling prey to unverified news.
