Srisailam, a serene hill town in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district, is a place of immense spiritual significance. Known for the holy Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, one of Lord Shiva’s twelve sacred abodes, and one of the eighteen Shakti Peethas of Goddess Parvati, this destination offers a perfect blend of spirituality and natural beauty. Situated along the banks of the Krishna River, Srisailam is also home to the Bhramaramba Mallikarjunaswamy Temple, a renowned pilgrimage site nestled 457 meters above sea level.

Surrounded by the lush Nallamala forest, which is rich in biodiversity, Srisailam offers not only spiritual respite but also a chance to explore nature. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Srisailam Dam and the nearby Phaladhara Panchadhara, a scenic waterfall. October to February is the ideal season to visit, as the weather remains pleasant, ranging from 15°C to 32°C, making it perfect for sightseeing and wildlife sanctuary visits.
While the monsoon season (June to September) brings heavy rainfall, making it more suitable for short temple visits, summer (March to May) is best avoided due to high temperatures and humidity. However, those visiting during the monsoons can still find peace within the temples, albeit with fewer outdoor activities.
Whether seeking spiritual rejuvenation or a scenic retreat, Srisailam offers visitors a tranquil escape infused with natural beauty and ancient devotion.
