When kindness becomes a way of learning

The Preparatory Wing of Apeejay School, Sector-15, Faridabad, organised an awakening session on Sharing and Caring to help young students understand the value of kindness through simple, meaningful actions.

The session focused on an idea children can relate to easily: Sharing becomes more meaningful when it is practised. Students took part with enthusiasm and donated clothes for those in need. Their smiles reflected the joy that often comes from giving without expecting anything in return.

Learning through role-play

The children also brought a story to life through role-plays. This gave them a chance to understand the message of the session creatively and engagingly. Instead of only listening to a lesson, they expressed it through characters, actions, and situations.

The activity helped them see that caring is not limited to words. It can be shown through small choices, thoughtful gestures, and a willingness to give up something for another person. The role-plays also made the idea of sacrifice easier to understand at their age.

Kindness as a daily habit

The session underlined that kindness grows when it is shared. It also helped students recognise that giving can bring happiness to both the giver and the receiver. Through the clothes donation and the role-play activity, the children explored how empathy can guide everyday behaviour.

Such experiences are especially valuable during the early years. They help children connect classroom learning with real life and encourage them to become more aware of the people around them.

The awakening session ended with a simple but lasting message. Sharing is not only about giving away an object. It is also about showing love, care, and courage. For the young students, the day became an opportunity to understand that even a small act of kindness can make a meaningful difference.
