Healthy habits formed during the school years often shape how children manage their physical and emotional well-being later in life. Keeping this in mind, Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri, organised a Health Awareness Programme for students of Classes VI, VII and VIII.

The session was conducted by Mrs Abha Gupta, PGT, who spoke about the value of balanced nutrition, regular exercise, personal hygiene, adequate sleep and positive mental health. She explained that good health is built through small choices made every day.

Understanding everyday health

Students were guided on the importance of eating nutritious food, drinking enough water and staying physically active. The session also drew attention to the risks linked with junk food, excessive screen time and a sedentary routine.

Mrs Gupta shared simple ways to maintain cleanliness, prevent common illnesses and manage stress. The discussion remained practical and easy to follow, allowing students to connect the advice with their own daily habits.

Learning through participation

The programme became engaging through questions, quizzes, real-life examples and practical suggestions. Students spoke about their health routines and asked questions about the choices they make at home and school.

Their active participation turned the session into a shared learning experience. By the end, students pledged to adopt healthier habits and become more aware of their well-being.

Health as a lifelong responsibility

Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr Vineet Vasishtha appreciated the initiative and reminded students that health awareness goes beyond avoiding illness. “Good health is the cornerstone of a happy and successful life. Through this programme, we aimed to encourage our students to develop healthy habits that will benefit them throughout their lives. I appreciate Mrs Abha Gupta for conducting such an informative session. Let us remember that small daily choices lead to lifelong wellness,” he said.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. It left students with a clear message: healthier lives begin with informed and consistent choices. The initiative reflected the school’s focus on holistic education and its effort to nurture responsible, confident and health-conscious young citizens.
