Known for her passion for storytelling and strategic communication, Namya has already begun to make her mark in the public relations field. Her journey from a novice in mass communication to a budding PR professional is a testament to her dedication and the solid foundation she built at AIMC.
As she navigates her new role, Namya shares insights into her experiences, inspirations, and aspirations, offering a glimpse into the life of a dynamic and promising PR talent.
Namya, can you tell us what you’re doing currently?
After graduating from AIMC, I joined AdFactors PR as a trainee account executive. Right now, I’m in the induction phase, which involves learning about the company and its processes. I’m currently based at the Mumbai headquarters for this induction but will be stationed at the Delhi office.
What does a typical day at work look like for you?
Since I just started on the 15th, my current focus is on induction sessions. These sessions are designed to familiarize us with the company’s operations. Once I begin my regular duties, I’ll be engaged in news tracking, both traditional and digital media, for our clients. This involves monitoring how our clients and their competitors are portrayed in the media.

What inspired you to pursue a career in PR?
I don’t come from a mass communication or journalism background, but I’ve always been fascinated by stories—how they shape our perception of brands and organisations. When I joined AIMC, I realized that every brand has a unique story. PR is about conveying that story to the right audience, and I felt I had the skills to do that effectively. This realisation inspired me to pursue a career in PR.
How did your time at AIMC prepare you for this field?
AIMC was instrumental in shaping my understanding of PR. I started with little knowledge of the field, but my professors, including Mudita Ma’am, Sajal Sir, Sukriti Ma’am, and Naveen Sir, were incredibly supportive. They taught us everything from the basics of brand perception to the intricacies of crafting and communicating a brand’s story. The practical insights and guidance I received were invaluable.
Did AIMC help you with campus placements and interviews?
Absolutely. AIMC had a rigorous placement preparation process. We had mock interviews, group discussions, and sessions on personal branding. Our teachers helped us build confidence and hone our technical skills, ensuring we were well-prepared for the real interviews.
What’s the next step in your career?
I’m currently focused on learning as much as I can in my trainee position. I want to excel at this level and contribute meaningfully to my team. As I gain more experience, I hope to move up within the organization and take on more responsibilities, always striving to be better at what I do.
How do you see yourself growing in the PR industry?
I believe continuous learning is key. As I grow in my career, I aim to develop a deeper understanding of PR strategies and client management. My goal is to become a senior PR professional who can lead campaigns and make significant contributions to my clients’ success.
