‘The spring of life’: Poem by Samaira Mulchandani, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park

Listen to the poem here:
I believe that childhood is like a beautiful spring morning,
That memorable time where we live those carefree days
Under the morning sun’s dazzling rays,
Just running on the lush grass around the garden with neither worry nor warning.
Our hopes and wishes are the fragrant flowers that bloom in the spring.
The vibrant butterflies are the dreams that we wake up each morning to chase.
The hope that there will be another glorious morning like this, lies in our hearts always.
The appearance of fresh leaves are the new curiosities, the thirst to know about everything.
How I wish spring could last forever
This time of imagination and infinite possibilities we see.
For the flowers and leaves that just appeared, may one day be carried away by the mighty river,
The carefree times in this mystical garden may one day be lost for eternity.
I know I’ll miss this beautiful spring day that I will carry in my heart to fondly remember
But I won’t cry, for each season is a part of a cycle and each has its own beauty.
