Unforgettable tribute to maternal magic and childhood joy

In the heart of every child, there’s a special day that shines a spotlight on the most amazing superheroes we know — our moms! Mothers are like real-life superheroes, with powers that include love, patience, and boundless support. They juggle a zillion tasks — cooking, working, helping with homework, working and still manage to be our biggest cheerleaders.

School is not just about math and science, it’s also a place where we learn important life lessons.

To instill a sense of responsibility and affection amongst young children, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park organised a Mother’s Day celebration on May 9, 2024, that happened within the school premises itself. The event was organised for the Pre-primary wing which was two hours long and involved not just one or two but various fun-filled activities.

The Pre-Primary wing of the school was alive with joy and affection as Mother’s Day overflowed with love and laughter, celebrating the unbreakable bond between mothers and their children. Handmade “Super Mom” badges adorned with glitter and colorful ribbons greeted the mothers as they arrived, each one a token of appreciation crafted by tiny hands with big hearts. Delicate flowers, carefully picked and arranged by eager little ones, added a touch of nature’s beauty to the festivities.

The highlight of the day was the heartwarming tribute presented by the children — a wonderful Mother’s Day song. As the sweet voices of the little ones filled the air, singing lyrics filled with love and gratitude, emotions soared. Tears glistened in the eyes of the mothers, moved by the sincerity and innocence of their children’s heartfelt performance. It was a moment of pure magic, where the essence of motherhood was celebrated in its most genuine and touching form.

Amidst the celebration, we had an innate opportunity to interact with the parents of the students who attended the celebration.

Ms Mahvish Fayaz, mother of Inaaya Faizal, a student of nursery said, “The Mother’s Day celebration at Apeejay Panchsheel was amazing. They had arranged such lovely and fun activities which both moms and kids enjoyed. They had done a commendable job and made us feel so special. We had a great time.”

Another parent, Ms Prerana Acharya Sharma mother of Neera Sharma, a student of nursery shared: “Apeejay family for celebrating motherhood. Neera loves going to school and tells me all about her day with so much excitement. I am so glad that I could be a part of one of her school days. I am sure this day is going to be in both our core memories and will be cherished by us forever. Special thanks to Nisha Maam for giving the love, affection, and care like a mother to Neera when she is at school.”

Laughter echoed through the halls as mothers and children participated in fun activities together, from crafting special keepsakes to sharing sweet treats and stories. The atmosphere buzzed with happiness and connection, each moment strengthening the bond between families and the school community.

After the heartfelt Mother’s Day song, the celebration continued with a series of engaging activities that brought out the talents and creativity of the mothers. Laughter and joy filled the classrooms as everyone joined in for games like passing the parcel, where excitement and anticipation lit up the room with each passing round.

The newspaper dance brought out the lively competition as mothers showcased their nimbleness and balance, dancing with grace and humour on makeshift dance floors. The eco-friendly dress-up activity was a delightful display of ingenuity, with mothers fashioning imaginative outfits using recyclable materials, proving that style and sustainability go hand in hand.

Props singing added a musical twist to the festivities, with mothers grabbing playful props and belting out tunes with abandon, turning classrooms into impromptu concert halls. As the celebrations drew a close, the bond between mothers and their children grew even stronger, enriched by moments of laughter, creativity, and shared experiences.

It was a day where talents shone brightly and hearts were filled with the simple joys of togetherness and celebration. Colour-coded decorations adorned every corner, symbolising the depth of maternal care and dedication. It was a heartfelt tribute to the extraordinary journey of motherhood — a mosaic of love and cherished moments, binding mother and child in an unbreakable connection. The event beautifully captured the essence of this special day, leaving everyone with memories to treasure for a lifetime.
