The young students of Apeejay School, Noida celebrated unity in diversity. A vibrant cultural day by classes I and II, showcased India’s rich cultural diversity under the theme, Unity in Diversity: Incredible India. The students came together in a colourful display of traditions, languages, and regional artistry.
The event was marked by a series of captivating performances that took everyone present on a tour of India’s cultural landscape. Through this thoughtfully designed celebration, Apeejay School highlighted the importance of understanding and respecting the country’s vast cultural heritage from an early age, fostering values of harmony and tolerance among the students.
A Tapestry of Indian Traditions
The programme opened with an array of performances, featuring students dressed in traditional attires that vividly represented different regions of India, including Punjab, West Bengal, South India, and Goa. Each group showcased a unique aspect of the region they represented, embodying the spirit and essence of its traditions. The costumes — vibrant and carefully chosen — added an authentic touch to the performances, drawing admiration from the audience.
Students sang and danced to songs in various regional languages, demonstrating the beauty of linguistic and cultural diversity. In her address to the gathering, the Principal, Ms Ritu Kohli, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the efforts put in by both students and teachers. She emphasising the importance of family support in children’s lives. Ms Kohli stated, “Harmony at home plays a crucial role in the socio-emotional development of our children. A supportive and nurturing environment fosters values that guide them in building respectful relationships.”
Reflecting on the school’s commitment to student well-being, Ms Kohli further emphasised the need for a robust safety net to ensure students’ security both at school and at home. Her words resonated with the parents, underscoring the school’s dedication to creating a secure and inclusive environment for every child.

The Primary In-charge, Ms Smriti Samuel, also took to the stage to commend the young students. She praised their confidence and poise, noting that the event provided them with an invaluable opportunity to learn and grow. Such events go a long way in enhancing our children’s confidence. They learn to work together as a team and feel proud of their performances. This sense of achievement is essential for their personal growth and development, she shared.
