Why cheat?

Often, we hear success stories that inspire us. But what about the failure stories? They give us life lessons rather than just messages.

A person dreamt of India being a space power. Dream fulfilled.

Another one for self-reliable India. Failed.

Everything is recycled in India, even dreams. So aren’t you and I, the next hope for the mission?

Imagine you bought flight tickets worth thousands and spent a lot for a guest room in a foreign country. Then you go to the market and buy something to mark your visit to a foreign land. After returning to India, you find the same item in the shop next door!

Well, it’s true. Sometimes being obsessed with an extraneous brand or exotic materials, we forget, all these companies have factories set up in India. So actually you are spending double-triple amounts to buy the same thing that you could purchase in your own country. Then why cheat?

‘Vocal for Local’ or ‘Make in India’ is an initiative to support handicrafts and honestly, it saves you from being fooled. The producers are capable, but often the buyers fail to understand the correct choice. As consumers, changing the world is to care about what we buy. Before thinking India can only make good spices, agarbatti or diyas and not gadgets or cars, remember, “India lives in several centuries at the same time”.
