Mrs Deepti Sharma is the mother of Nandini, a Class 10 student at Apeejay School, Faridabad, Sector-15. Nandini is a science aficionado and is figuring out between medical and non-medical for her stream choice.  In a quick interview, the mother tells us how the school teachers have always been encouraging her daughter to do her best. Read edited excerpts:

How has Nandini’s academic performance been so far?

It is going very well. I have seen my daughter go through various ups and down in this school. But the support she has received from the school is commendable. I don’t think any other school or teachers could have done that. Whenever she scored low, her teachers never demotivated her. This unconditional encouragement brought out the best in her. It has been a beautiful journey so far.

So happy to know that the teachers are doing so well?

Yes! All the teachers are excellent. However, my daughter is a big fan of Chemistry and Biology teachers Ms Aabha Kulkarni and Mrs Suman Choudhary respectively and of course the dance teacher Ms Pragati Mishra.

Which subjects does she like and which does she dislike?

She loves chemistry a lot and does not find any subject weak. She enjoys each and every subject equally.

That’s great! What about extracurriculars and sports?

She takes part in each and every competition in the school. My daughter has a forte in music and has been pursuing it since the age of 4. She has won the Dainik Jagaran music contest four times in a row. She was also the recipient of the Dr Stya Paul Award for Human Values in class 8. As far as sports is concerned, she stood first in the 200m race in school last year.

You seem pretty satisified with the school environment?

Yes! The school is doing its best possible. I have no qualms.

So which stream does Nandini wish to take in class 11?

She is confused between medical and non-medical. But keeping in mind her love for science, the choice will surely be between these two.

Finally, how is the board exam preparation going?

Thanks to the school for holding so many exams which are introducing the students to the pressure and grill of taking exams. But the school never pressurises the students. With studies, the school balances co-curricular activities and focuses on all-round development. So all is sorted.
